Civil Service Exam 2024

The Civil Service Exam is a test that helps Filipinos to obtain Government Jobs in the Philippines. This test is conducted twice a year by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) of the Philippines.

The Civil Service Exam is also known as Career Service Exam. Many Filipinos dream of obtaining a Government Job because of Job stability, competitive pay and retirement benefits. Hence, to obtain a Government Job in the Philippines, one must pass the Civil Service Exam.

Civil Service Exam Application Timeline and Schedule

The Civil Service Exam Pen and Paper Test (PPT) Application Timeline and Exam Schedule for CY 2024 is as follows:

Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO)

• Exam Date: Jan 28, 2024
• Title of Examination: CSE-FSO
• Issuance Date of Exam Announcement: c/o DFA-BFSE (Department of Foreign Affairs- Board of Foreign Service Examinations)
• Application Starts From: Sep 18, 2023
• Application Deadline Date: Oct 20, 2023
• Test Results Date: March 10, 2024

Career Service Examination Professional and Sub-Professional levels*

• Exam Date: March 3, 2024
• Title of Examination: CSE Professional and Sub-Professional levels
• Issuance Date of Exam Announcement: Oct 30, 2023
• Application Starts From: Nov 20, 2023
• Application Deadline Date: Jan 3, 2024

*with limited acceptance of applications for the period 16-27 December 2023 to be managed by the CSC Regional / Field Offices to give way to the preparation and submission of year-end reports and project / program evaluation reports, and other year-end official activities.

Separate Exam Announcements

The CSC announcement also included that “Except for the CSE-FSO, the CSC shall issue individual or separate examination announcements three (3) weeks before the start of each application period as indicated above. The announcement shall contain detailed information on the following areas:

• Scope of examination;
• Passing grade;
• Testing centers;
• Qualification/Admission requirements;
• Application/Documentary requirements;
• Where to get the application form and how to file the application;
• Target release of test results; and
• Resulting civil service eligibility.

Civil Service Exam Requirements

Following is the general requirements to apply for CSE 2024:

• The applicant is a Filipino citizen 
• He or She must at least be 18 years old 
• Has no criminal record
• Has no dismissal record from military or government service
• The applicant has not taken the same-level exam within the last three months before the exam date
