OWWA Scholarship 2024-2025 | Open to Apply

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) grants the OWWA Scholarship to the dependents of OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers). OWWA is a non-profit organization which promotes the welfare and well-being of Filipino employees working abroad.

So, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration offers a variety of scholarships, insurance, and educational opportunities to Overseas Filipino Workers and their family.

OWWA Scholarship

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is a group responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of the dependents of Filipino workers who are employed abroad. To promote education in the Philippines, OWWA has initiated scholarship programs for the dependents of the OFWs pursuing their education in the Philippines Colleges and Universities.

This year, OWWA has announced the opening of Online Applications for its two scholarship programs, namely:

• EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program
• ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program

All interested and eligible college students who are dependents of the OFWs can apply for these scholarship programs.

EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program

The EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program provides Financial assistance in the form of scholarship grants to the qualified dependents or a sibling of a single active OWWA member till the completion of their 4-5 year bachelor course.

Scholarship Benefits

OWWA Scholars who qualify for the EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program will receive a financial assistance of Php60,000.00 per school year as scholarship benefits.

List of Qualifications

Following are the qualifications required to apply for the EDSP Scholarship program:

• The candidate must be Single
• He or She must be not more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
• Must enroll or be studying in a Philippine-based college / university
• Must be a Grade 12 graduating student with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% or its equivalent
• Students already enrolled in the 2nd to 5th year of college must have a GWA of not lower than a B letter grade or 85 percent

Number of Slots available for EDSP

A total of 1600 Slots are now available for the EDSP Scholarship program.

ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program

The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program – popularly known as ODSP, is a scholarship program that provides Scholarships to the qualified dependents of OFWs whose salary is less than US $600.00 per month.

Scholarship Benefits

OWWA Scholars who qualify for the ODSP – OFW Dependent Scholarship Program will receive a financial assistance of Php20,000.00 per school year until the completion of their 4-5 year baccalaureate course.

List of Qualifications

Following are the qualifications required to apply for the ODSP Scholarship program:

• The applicant must be Single
• He or She must be not more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
• Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college / university
• Qualified dependents of OFWs whose salary is less than US $600.00 per month can apply
• He or She must not be receiving any other scholarships.

Number of Slots available for ODSP

A total of 2500 Slots are now available for the ODSP Scholarship program.

Documentary Requirements

Following is the list of documents required to apply for OWWA Scholarship:

• A Proof of Identity
• Proof of Grades from the Previous School
• Photocopy of Birth certificate
• 2 X 2 ID Picture with Name Tags (2 pcs)
• A Photocopy of Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
• Original Copy of Affidavit of No Child / Sibling Dependent
• A Photocopy of Proof of Enrollment

Scholarship Application Timeline

The opening date of online application for the OWWA ODSP and EDSP Scholarship program is July 26, 2024.

The deadline date to apply for the OWWA Scholarship program is August 16, 2024.
