The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – OWWA is calling in applications from all eligible college students to apply for its scholarship programs. The OWWA recently shared a post on Facebook, announcing the opening of OWWA EDSP AND ODSP Scholarship for the school year 2025-2026.

OWWA Scholarship 2025

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is in charge of making better the life of OFWs in the Philippines. In order to achieve their goal, the OWWA provides scholarship opportunities to the dependent of OFWs.

Following is the list of scholarships provided by OWWA:

• Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
• Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
• OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)
• Education and Livelihood Assistance Program for the Dependents of Deceased OFW Members (ELAP)

Currently, EDSP and ODSP Scholarship programs are open to apply for all incoming freshmen for the school year 2025-2026.

OWWA EDSP Scholarship program

EDSP means Education for Development Scholarship Program. The OWWA EDSP Scholarship is a scholarship grant given to qualifying dependents of OFWs. This grant is given till the completion of their bachelor course (4-5 years).

There are two main scholarship programs under OWWA EDSP Scholarship program, they are as follows:

• EDSP 1 – Open to apply for all New Incoming first-year college students
• EDSP 2 – Open to apply for all 2nd to 5th year college students

Benefits of OWWA EDSP Scholarship

The OWWA EDSP – Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) provides a scholarship grant of ₱60,000.00 per school year.

EDSP is a scholarship grant provided by OWWA for qualifying dependents of OFWs till completion of bachelor course (4-5 years).

Qualifications to apply for OWWA EDSP Scholarship

Following is the list of qualifications required to apply for OWWA EDSP Scholarship 2024:

• The applicant must be Single and below 21 years old
• He or She must be a child of an active OWWA member or sibling of a married but childless active OWWA member
• Applicant must be a Must be Grade 12 Graduating Student and have a GWA of 80% or its equivalent
• Students already enrolled in the 2nd to 5th year of college must have a GWA of not lower than a B letter grade or 85%
• He or She must be willing to enroll in Philippines-based colleges / universities
• Must have NO AVAILMENT of any OWWA Scholarship program by other members of the OFW Family.

OWWA ODSP Scholarship

ODSP means OFW Dependent Scholarship Program. The OWWA ODSP Scholarship is a scholarship grant given to qualifying dependents of OFWs until the completion of 4-5 years baccalaureate course.

OWWA member OFWs who receive a monthly salary of US $1000.00 or below, regardless or job category, who shall enroll, is currently enrolled or has been enrolled in any four or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course in any college or university can apply for this scholarship program.

Benefits of ODSP Scholarship

ODSP Scholarship provides a financial assistance with a maximum of ₱20,000.00 per school year until the completion of 4-5 years baccalaureate course in any college/universities within the Philippines.

Qualifications to apply for OWWA ODSP Scholarship

The qualifications required to apply for OWWA OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) are as follows:

• The applicant must be Single
• Must be a child or sibling of an OFW active member
• Must have passing GWA
• The applicant must not be more than 21 years old for Incoming 1st year college and 30 years old for 2nd to 5th year college
• Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college / university
• Must have a GWA of 80% without failing grades or within 20% of graduating class for children of OFW
• Qualified dependents of OFWs must have a monthly OFW income not more than USD $1000.00 or its equivalent

List of Documentary Requirements

The list of documents required to apply for OWWA Scholarship are as follows:

• A Birth Certificate or Baptismal
• An OFW Valid Government Issued I.D.
• A School I.D. or any available valid I.D.
• 2×2 ID pictures with white background, name tag and signature of applicant
• Proof of Grades (Grade 11) i.e. Form 137 / Transcript of Records (TOR), Form 138, or Certificate of Grades

Scholarship Application Timeline

The opening date for the OWWA EDSP and ODSP Scholarship Online Application is July 16, 2025.

The last date to submit online application for OWWA EDSP and ODSP scholarship programs is July 31, 2025.
