CHED Study Now Pay Later Plan (SNPLP) is one of the Scholarships offered by CHED – Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for eligible Filipino students.

This program is created to assist students in continuing their education despite financial challenges. Students who participate in the program will only be required to repay the money they received once they have finished their studies and obtained work. In this manner, individuals can concentrate on their studies without being concerned about how they will pay back their loans.

Students who participated in this program are eligible for a loan up to the real cost of their tuition, including other incidental costs, but not more than Php20,000 every semester.

CHED Study Now Pay Later Plan

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) launched the CHED StuFAPs Study Now Pay Later Plan Program as a loan program to assist Filipino students with their higher education without any maintaining grade or general weighted average. Anyone who wishes to apply for a loan can do so through this progra. Students can continue and complete their college education through a loan program from CHED and pay it back later, just as its name implies.

The students in the Philippines greatly benefit from this program. Since there is no minimum grade criteria or general weighted average for this program, anyone who wants to use the financial aid is invited to apply.

Benefits of CHED Study Now Pay Later Plan

Students who avail the CHED Study Now Pay Later Plan program shall receive a loanable amount of the actual cost of their tuition and other miscellaneous fees but shall not exceed Php 20,000 per semester.

Eligibility Criteria

Following is the eligibility criteria a student must meet to be eligible to apply for CHED Study Now Pay Later Plan program:

  1. The applicant must be a Filipino citizen.
  2. He or she shall not exceed the age limit of 30 years old.
  3. He or she shall be enrolled in any curricular year level in any of CHED-recognized degrees/programs.
  4. There is no income limit but priority is given to students whose parents have a combined annual gross income of Php 300,000 or less.
  5. The applicant shall be of good moral character.
  6. He or she is not a beneficiary or recipient of any financial assistance programs of the government.

A co-borrower or a member of GSIS or SSS who acted as the co-debtor of the student applicant or borrower must meet the following qualifications:

  • He or she must not be more than 50 years old.
  • He or she must be a bona fide member of GSIS or SSS and in good standing, as evidenced by a Certificate of Employment and Compensation from his/her employer.

Documentary Requirements

Following are the documents required to apply for this program:

  2. A copy of the Birth Certificate.
  3. Admission slip or enrollment form from the school.
  4. A National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) Certificate for incoming college students.
  5. Form 138 for incoming college students and a Certified True Copy of Grades during the previous semester attended, for those who have earned units in college.
  6. A Certificate of Good Moral from a previous high school was given by a principal or guidance counselor.
  7. The latest Income Tax Return (ITR) or Certificate of Exemption from filing the ITR of parents or guardians.
  8. A Certificate of Employment of Co-borrower.
  9. A latest BIR Form 2316 (Withholding Tax Certificate) or ITR of Co-borrower.
  10. A photocopy of the GSIS or SSS Identification Card of the Co-borrower.
  11. TIN, GSIS, or SSS No. of student applicant for purpose of future tracking of the student borrower.

Step by Step Application Process for CHED Study Now Pay Later Program

Here is a dedicated step-by-step guide to apply for the CHED Study Now Pay Later Program

  1. Go to the nearest CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) in your region where your chosen higher education institution is located or visit CHED’s official website.
  2. Fill out completely the StuFAPs application form (OSS Form 01).
  3. Attach the documents required to your application form and submit it to the CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO).
  4. CHEDRO will evaluate and screen all the applications in compliance with the set criteria.
  5. Once the evaluation process is complete, CHEDRO will rank the qualified applicants and initially assign award numbers for each applicant.
  6. CHEDRO will issue a Notice of Award (NOA) to notify qualified applicants.
  7. The Qualified applicants are given thirty (30) days to accept the receipt of NOA.
  8. CHEDRO will then, prepare and certify the master list for the Study Now Pay Later Plan.
